Yes, I actually shear sheep.
The story
It started with a sweater. I bought an expensive one, loved it, and thought, I could make this. So I learned to knit. Then a knit shop owner told me about shearing school, and I thought, I could do that too. I went, I loved it, and I came home and bought my own clippers.
Now I shear small flocks around Helena and bring the wool home, where it sits in bags in my shed while I work up the courage to learn to spin. (It's on the list.)
Why it matters to me
I believe in knowing where your clothes come from. Shearing is the most direct way I know to do that. Every sweater starts with an animal and someone who took care of it, and I want to be part of that from the very beginning.
Book a shearing HERE
I work with small flocks and hobby farms in the Helena area. If you've got a handful of sheep and nobody to shear them, I'd love to help.
